The Most Incredible Movie Everby Virginia Hubbard The Incredibles may not be the best movie on the face of the Earth, but it comes close in my book. I love the settings. They're so pretty, from the moon lit streets of Metropolis to the glorious jungles of Nomanisan. But the real story here is the characters. Even as a young female, I could really feel for Bob Parr and his struggles. I felt even more, though, for the busy matriarch Helen. My mother has 5 children, and I found the complexity of her life very real and endearing. The kids also have real struggles trying to fit in at public school. For me, other than my love for the characters and plot, the best part is watching Helen and Bob Parr struggle with their worn out, 15 year marriage, and then seeing them work it out on screen as opposed to divorcing. I get very tired of the surrealism of today's films, with all the infidelity, divorce, and remarriage I see in real and fantasy life all the time. I was glad to see an animated film rise to the challenge of Divorce rates and give them what they deserved. I also really adore the Political values I found in the film, but I won't go there. Anyway, I love The Incredibles more than words can describe, and would recommend it to anyone, young or old. |
