The Trouble with Jack-Jackby Kelly Unfortunately, though, without having and "Jack-Jack Attack" the viewer is left with just one question: Why was Kari so frantically calling the Incredibles about Jack-Jack? This Pixar Short builds slowly. It begins with Kari confident she can take care of Jack-Jack while stimulating him with flash cards and Mozart. With each passing moment, however, she soon realizes that Jack-Jack is not a typical baby. Also with each passing moment, Kari begins calling Mrs. Parr leaving ever more frantic messages about having problems with Jack-Jack. Perhaps the best part of this Pixar Short is when Jack-Jack begins bursting into flames. He plays and crawls around the house as Kari desperately attempts to catch him in order to extinguish the flames that have become Jack-Jack. Finally, Kari is seen the following morning completely exhausted and sitting half asleep with a fire extinguisher and mirror to deflect the laser beams Jack-Jack shoots at her with his eyes. He seems quite pleased with this ability until Syndrome arrives and tricks Kari into thinking he is her replacement. This is one of PixarÂ’s funniest shorts, and it is so important to understanding why Kari keeps desperately calling the family about Jack-Jack who was thought to have no powers. |
