Minor Cars 2 Characters

The background roles of any movie are important and the Cars 2 characters are no exception. Imagine this movie with no Francesco Bernoulli! Without him, Lightning McQueen would never have signed up for the World Grand Prix! Learn about each of these awesome characters in Cars 2 and how each contributed to an overall fun and exciting Pixar movie.

Lightning McQueen

Cars 2 Lightning McQueen

Cars 2 begins with Cars 2 character Lightning McQueen returning home to Radiator Springs after a successful racing season with 4 new Piston Cup trophies. His best friend, Mater, misses him and so they spend some quality time together that day. But later that evening, McQueen decides to take out his girl, Sally Carrera, out to dinner. Mater, not wanting to leave his friend's side for a moment, poses as a waiter.

After ordering their "usual" just to confuse Mater, Lightning McQueen sees everyone crowding around the bar area. He soon learns that Mater has called into a talk show where Francesco Bernoulli is making fun of McQueen and how he needs to slow down after his racing season. McQueen takes over the phone call and rises to Miles Alexrod and Bernoulli's challenge to participate in the first World Grand Prix.

After accepting, Sally talks McQueen into taking Mater along him and the Radiator Springs pit crew. Lightning McQueen gets a sleek new paint job, a new spoiler over his rear, and new wheels. His headlights now actually work and aren't just stickers this time! And then they're off to Tokyo for the first leg of the World Grand Prix.

It doesn't take long before Lightning McQueen becomes embarrassed by Mater's ignorant and foolish behavior. He always apologizes for his friend's antics and begins to regret taking Mater along.

The last straw happens at the first race where Mater is distracted and inadvertently gives McQueen bad instructions over their communication channel causing McQueen to lose to his rival, Francesco Bernoulli. Cars 2 character Lightning McQueen tells Mater to go home; he feels bad about telling his friend to leave, but he really wants to win.

In the second leg of the race in Italy, he meets with Luigi's family, Uncle Topolino and Mama Topolino. Uncle gives McQueen advice about friendship and how Guido and Luigi used to always fight, but they are still close. This makes Lightning McQueen feel much better and he's determined to treat his friend better once he gets home.

The race in Porto Corsa goes well for McQueen. He and Bernoulli go neck and neck, but it is McQueen who wins. That glory is short-lived, however, when it is discovered that many other race cars behind them were unknowingly destroyed by the electromagnetic camera.

In the interviews following the race, McQueen firmly states that he shall keep using Allinol because his friend Fillmore said it was safe and he stands by his friends. He references Mater being a friend he had recently let down.

During the London circuit, McQueen discovers Mater is there. He's so happy to see him and he chases Mater on the track, not knowing that Mater has a bomb bolted to his engine. McQueen even calls Mater "the bomb" misunderstanding Mater's warnings.

Once the crisis is eliminated, Cars 2 characters Mater and Lightning McQueen go back home to Radiator Springs, where McQueen changes back to his old paint job. Lightning McQueen wins the Radiator Springs version of the World Grand Prix as Mater joins along with his rocket propelled engines.

Doesn't Lightning McQueen look awesome in Cars 2? I don't have to tell you how great these toys are either. Only 4 & 5-star rated toys here! See more Lightning McQueen cars if this perks your interest...

Francesco Bernoulli

Cars 2 Francesco Bernoulli

Italian Formula 1 racer Francesco Bernoulli is the most famous European race car. He's got loads of fans, including some of the ladies in Radiator Springs like Sally Carrera and Flo, who admire his open wheels. Bernoulli is painted in the red, green and white colors of the Italian flag and is #1, not only for the World Grand Prix, but also in his own eyes.

Bernoulli is also arrogant and likes to tease his rivals. His biggest rival is Lightning McQueen, and this Cars 2 character takes every opportunity to mock him, whether it is putting on an insulting bumper sticker or dedicating his next win to McQueen's girlfriend.

If you want an amazing race car or recreate those fun racing scenes in Cars 2, then buy one of these amazing toys! You'll only see the best here.

Siddeley the Spy Jet

Cars 2 Siddeley the Spy Jet

Here is one of the most awesome minor Cars 2 characters. Siddeley the Spy Jet is Finn McMissile's loyal and dependable colleague who always arrives when he should.

Siddeley is a big guy, but sleek with a silver body. The famous A113 is printed on his tail and is 176 feet long with a wingspan at 156 feet. Look inside at his interior: latest in high tech equipment, yet lushly appointed.

In Cars 2, Siddeley swoops out of the sky and lands at the airport as both Finn McMissile and Mater try and get on board. He is chased around the tarmac a bit and at the very last second as he takes off again, Finn and Mater are able to catch on to the entrance ramp.

Once airborne, Siddeley can go at impressive speeds, getting his passengers around the globe quickly and in style.

I'm so impressed with Siddeley - he looks and sounds so incredible. Did you know that you can get Siddeley as a toy too?

Rod "Torque" Redline

Cars 2 Rod Torque Redline

American Spy Cars 2 character Rod "Torque" Redline is a master at disguise. He was able to infiltrate the Lemons and obtain vitally important information about the scheme around the World Grand Prix.

At the pre-race party in Tokyo, Torque is supposed to meet with McMissile to pass on the evidence and share his discoveries. They are set to meet in the restroom. As Torque enters the restroom, his old Gremlin disguise falls away and his real identity is revealed. Torque is a tough blue American muscle car, a combination of a Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger.

However, he was sidelined in the bathroom by Grem and Acer, the two lead Lemons. They proceed to beat Torque, but Torque manages to slip his classified information on Mater's undercarriage without the Lemons knowing. Torque is captured and taken away to Professor Z.

Professor Z fills up Torque with Allinol, while Torque unleashes wisecracks. The electromagnetic camera is aimed at Torque and as the lemons show pictures of who had contact with Torque, they ask him who he's given information to. Torques eyes shift when they get to a picture of Mater and shortly after, the electromagnetic camera is pushed up to 100% strength and Torque is destroyed.

Tomber

Cars 2 Siddeley the Spy Jet

When Mater studies the photo of the mysterious engine taken by Torque, he mentions all the rare parts he sees. Finn McMissile remembers a contact he has in Paris, so they go to the infamous Marché Aux Pièces, a flea market of sorts, dealing in all manner of car parts. Finn's informant is one of the Cars 2 characters that is quite memorable.

Tomber is an old blue 3-wheeler who is quite unstable. Even his name, Tomber, in French, means to fall! McMissile had him rescued from a Moroccan compound years ago and he had since become an auto parts dealer in the market.

He, too, knows the engine and recognizes the parts, saying he sold them, but went through somebody else. Because of their knowledge of engines, both he and Mater get along right away, unlike with Holley Shiftwell, who tazed him before knowing he was Finn's contact.

It is Tomber who gives them information of a big meeting of Lemons coming up in Porto Corsa, the location of the next leg of the World Grand Prix.

Think a Cars 2 character like Tomber is overlooked as a toy? Think again! These are too cool!
