A Bug's Life Scene:
Flik Enters Bug City

This scene from A Bug's Life movie is really cool and such a contrast from the idyllic quiet life of the countryside where Ant Island is.

Flik is in search of some tough bugs and decides to make the journey to Bug City, where he'll likely find the recruits he needs to fight the grasshoppers.

The video scene opens at the trailer you will later see toward the end of Monsters Inc. (where Randall gets banished in the swamps of the deep South). One of those insect killing lamps is lit and a bug named Harry is hypnotized into flying toward the light. His friend warns him not to look, but he can't help it and he's zapped.

Flik arrives and is concerned about looking like a country bug. He walks in and there are all sorts of bugs everywhere, with all the junk under the trailer arranged like city buildings.

There are roadways with fast moving bugs and a June bug bus. A daddy long legs spider towers over everyone in long strides. Flik walks along, overwhelmed at the crowd and he bumps into a snail who berates him with one long eye and one that shrank.

An old homeless cricket sits against a building with a sign that reads "Kid Pulled My Wings Off" as he tries to make music with his legs. Flik finally sees a tavern where a bug just got thrown out and he knows he'll find some tough bugs there.

It's a creative scene of how bugs might live in a city the way we do. VERY entertaining!
