Mack Falls Asleep on the Highway

This video scene from the Cars movie shows Mack driving along the interstate on the way to Los Angeles for the Piston Cup tiebreaker race. Lightning McQueen has insisted he drive all night long and Mack is getting very sleepy and can barely keep his eyes open. McQueen, who promised Mack he'd stay awake with him, has long dozed off.

Along come four tricked-out, colorful street-racing cars called The Delinquent Road Hazards. They are a mischievous bunch who pull pranks on the weary travelers on the interstate.

The first one, Boost, announces to his friends that they've got themselves a nodder. DJ, the blue SUV lowrider pulls in front of Mack and turns his music from a cool hip-hop mix to a lulling saxophone tune.

The next friend, Wingo, helps Boost with a "lane change" as Mack snoozes and drifts from one lane to the next. They all laugh as Mack rolls along the rumble strip, the bumpy edge of the roadway.

The rumble strip is what causes the bobble-headed Lightning McQueen figures to bounce off the shelf and fall onto the lever that opens the trailer door, causing a sleeping Lightning McQueen to roll out onto the highway in the oncoming traffic.

Snot Rod, the fourth in the gang, has a sneezing problem and as he's driving along Mack's side, he sneezes really loudly, firing his exhaust and waking Mack. The Delinquent Road Hazards take off in a gale of laughter.

I love these four cars and how colorful and imaginative they look.
