Pixar Shorts:
Day & Night

Day & Night is yet another of the Pixar shorts and it opened for the blockbuster hit Toy Story 3. Many of Pixar's short films are very simple cartoon style films that have little to no speaking in them at all, yet somehow they always manage to grab their audience and they stay tuned into these short films to see them all the way through.

Many people watch these over and over too. In Day & Night, the creators have divulged the viewers with not only a 2D style of viewing but they have thrown in embedded 3D viewing as well. The story itself if based upon a motivational speaker by the name of Dr. Wayne Dyer, and it has a very nice layout.

Day & Night Plot

In this cute Pixar short, you will find that the characters are actually those of day and night. One character lives solely in the night and the other lives solely in the day. These two characters meet up and at first they find themselves not able to agree with one another about which part of the day is the best. This is to show how different people fear the unknown and to show that everyone can be their own person. Allowing for these differences in life is a necessity and really can not be avoided easily.

The night time character sees that the day time character experiences many wonderful activities. Some of the day time characters activities are watching beach goers, sun bathers, butterflies, and bustling cities. While the night time character gets to experience an entirely different world. The night time character's world in essentially the same exact world as the day time characters world is, however, his is completely different simply because of this night and day difference.

The day time character shows himself off by boasting about his part of the day, while the night time character becomes increasingly disappointed. This brings on the idea that the night time character can boast all about the wonders of his time of the day. He then displays himself in a manner that allows the day time character to see things such as the beauty in the starry sky, fireworks, and the flashy bright lights of Las Vegas at night.

These two hilarious characters have a dispute between themselves about who is better, the night time or the day time. Throughout all of their disagreements they find solace in knowing that differences are just a part of life and they then understand that can find joy in one another and their uniqueness. Once the sun sets and rises, they become the same, and then they switch. Night becomes day and day becomes night. They then set off to enjoy the rewards of being different.
