Elastigirl, Helen Parr or Mrs. IncredibleWhether you call her Elastigirl, Helen Parr or Mrs. Incredible, she's the superhero who holds it all together in The Incredibles movie. Elastigirl has the ability to stretch herself just like elastic. She can stretch her body long and thin, and she can also turn into different shapes. Some of the shapes she's turned into in The Incredibles is a power boat and also a parachute on two occasions. Not only is she bendy, but she is also quite strong. She can punch out a bad guy from considerable distance as well as keep her two super power kids under control (somewhat). During Golden Age of Super HeroesIn the beginning of The Incredibles, Elastigirl is interviewed on camera and she's an ambitious young woman who cannot think of settling down and having a family. She says she doesn't want to leave saving the world to the guys. No way! Her self confidence shines through. A short while later in the film, we see who's in love with this mysterious girl: Mr. Incredible. He's very impressed with her take charge attitude and flirtatious manner. Elastigirl wears a cream and red suit with an "EG" logo on the front and her hair is long and swept up in a hair band. She always encrourages him to be more "flexible" as she slinks over and under him, then she bounds off over the buildings into the sunset. She and Mr. Incredible are later married that night. Elastigirl Knows How to Fly Planes! This is probably one of the most exciting and emotionally charged scenes in The Incredibles. Helen Parr has just discovered her stowaway children on board a borrowed jet she's taking to go find Bob on Nomanisan Island.Back at the island, Syndrome has just launched guided missiles to attack the jet. As soon as she hears the alarms in the cockpit, Elastigirl has laser sharp focus as she jumps into the drivers seat. She's got a lot of experience in the air and takes supreme command of the aircraft as she narrowly dodges the deadly missiles and has to pull up sharply so as not to plunge into a huge ocean wave. Her and her children's lives are in grave danger and her quick thinking and reflexes save them all.
Super Hero, Yet ImperfectOne of the endearing qualities of the Incredibles family, especially Helen Parr, is her physical imperfections. She dresses in a frumpy way, and what stay at home mom doesn't at times?Like her husband, she's gotten a bit rounder over the years and when she infiltrates Nomanisan Island, she passes by a mirror and notices herself in her new super suit that Edna Mode made. She pauses and sighs as she rubs her rump. It's something all of us can relate to as we get older, as one Pixar fan mentions. You can have your say about Elastigirl, too, or any scenes or characters from The Incredibles as well. Come join in the fun! Elastigirl Poster 40 in. x 27 in. Elastigirl Punches MirageMr. Incredible thinks his entire family has just been killed when missiles blew up the jet airplane they were all on. He is devastated and very angry until Mirage, his enemy Syndrome's assistant, tells him his family survived.Bob is so relieved on hearing this news that he takes Mirage into an embrace. It is at this moment that they both see Helen standing in the doorway. She sees everything and is upset because she suspects Bob is having an affair. Mirage awkwardly tries to introduce herself, but Helen stretches out her arm and punches her out before Mirage could say anything more. Bob pulls his wife to him as she struggles to get loose, and plants a big kiss on her. It's a great scene from the movie!
