Toy Story 2 Characters:
Human Characters

The Toy Story 2 characters are mostly all toys, but there's one guy we all love to despise: Al McWhiggin. He sure complicates the lives of toys all around him when he decided to kidnap Woody. Who is this Al McWhiggin? There's also a familiar looking toy restorer, and while we're at it, we'll take a look at the Davis family again - they're a few years older in this movie...

Al McWhiggin

Al McWhiggin is one of the new Toy Story 2 characters introduced in this sequel. He is the greedy, dishonest toy collector and owner of Al's Toy Barn. When Andy's mom refuses to sell Woody to Al at the yard sale, Al steals Woody!

Toy Story 2 Character: Al McWhiggin

He's a fat, lazy, slobbish man who is obsessive about his Woody's Roundup toy collection that he plans to sell to a toy museum in Japan for a fortune.

One of the best parts of the movie with Al is when he's fast asleep on the sofa and he's surrounded by cheesy puffs. While Woody is crawling around on him, you see all the icky details of Al: the cheese powder covering his fingers, the stubble of his unshaven face, boogers in his nose, and just being that close up where you can see all his hairs is just creepy, but really adds to Al's unlikable character.

Geri the Cleaner

Al McWhiggin hires Geri, a cleaner who meticulously restores toys to their original condition. Geri is modeled exactly after the old man in the Pixar short film, Geri's Game. In this film, Geri has a big case full of tools, paints and sewing supplies AND a chess piece that is a clear reference to the short film. Geri gives Woody a good cleaning, making him look like new.

Andy Davis

Andy's about three years older in Toy Story 2, which puts him at about eight years old. He's going off to cowboy camp, as he does every year, taking Woody with him.

But just before leaving, Andy is playing vigorously with Woody and Buzz Lightyear and he accidentally rips Andy's arm. He says he can't bring Woody with him now with his arm like that, so he throws Woody up onto a dusty shelf. This sets in motion Woody's biggest fear of being rejected and tossed into the trash heap.

At the end of Toy Story 2, Andy comes home from cowboy camp to discover two new toys waiting for him on his bed: Jessie and Bullseye! He thinks his mother got him these two toys and he's thrilled with them.

Molly Davis

Andy's little sister has grown bigger in Toy Story 2. She's a toddler now and in their new house, she's got her own room. Mrs. Potato Head and Jessie belong to Molly, but she's happy to let them stay in Andy's room.

Mrs. Davis

She strikes fear in every toy's heart when she mentions having a yard sale. Mrs. Davis goes through Andy's room, clearing out old toys - mostly baby toys - that Andy and Molly don't play with anymore. She sweeps Wheezy the penguin in as well, but he is later rescued. Mrs. Davis knows how much Woody means to Andy and refuses to sell Woody to Al McWhiggin when he comes to the yard sale. It doesn't stop him from stealing Woody, though, but Andy's mom sure tried.
