Toy Story 3 Characters:
Andy's Toys with Us Since the Beginning

The main Toy Story 3 characters are Andy's toys, the gang that has been with us since the beginning. There's no more Wheezy, Bo Peep or Etch in this, the last of the Toy Story trilogy, but our favorite main characters remain.

Toy Story 3 characters: Woody, Buzz and Jessie

Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie each have a page of their own for their roles in Toy Story 3.

Woody

Sheriff Woody and the rest of the main Toy Story 3 characters are stored in Andy's toy chest in his room. Andy's mother urges him to clean out his room, and tells him to donate his toys or throw them away.

He takes out Woody and Buzz, and decides to put Buzz and the rest of the toys in a garbage bag. He puts Woody by his box bound for college... Find out what happens next to Woody.

Buzz Lightyear

Buzz returns as another of the leading Toy Story 3 characters as he leads the rest of Andy's gang to Sunnyside Daycare after he and the rest thought they were meant to be thrown away as garbage.

At Sunnyside, Andy's toys are assigned to the Caterpillar Room and Buzz... Find out what happens next to Buzz Lightyear.

Jessie

Even after all these years, Jessie is still an enthusiastic, yodeling cowgirl. But she also remains traumatized from being abandoned by her previous owner, Emily, and has a deep fear that Andy will eventually do the same thing to her. When Andy puts all his toys into a garbage bag intended for the attic, she wails, "I should have seen this coming! It's Emily all over again!"

Because she never wants to feel that rejection again, she leads the rest of Andy's Toy Story 3 characters to the Sunnyside Daycare donation box... Find out what happens next to Jessie.

And the Rest of the Andy's Gang of Toy Story 3 Characters

Toy Story 3 characters: Andy's Toys

Mr. Potato Head

He is still the spudly Toy Story 3 character with a sarcastic sense of humor, but a loyal husband to his wife, Mrs. Potato Head. He also, as in previous films, doubts Woody when Woody claims that they are not meant for the trash. However, once and the rest of the gang are at Sunnyside and his wife sees the truth with her missing eye, he comes around.

Once Lotso has them all locked up, Potato Head defends his wife which only ticks off Lotso, and so has Big Baby put him out in the sandbox overnight to teach him a lesson about having better manners.

Potato Head's role in the escape plan is to get outside again and signal when the coast is clear for the rest to come out. To do that he creates a distraction for the security camera that the scary monkey guard watches closely. Because he's belligerent again, he's taken out to the sandbox again, but this time it is intentional.

Once in the sandbox, his body parts separate from the main potato body and attach themselves to a tortilla that Jessie and Bullseye get for him. He walks awkwardly to the window to watch out for Lotso and the outside patrol cars. However, a pigeon sits next to him and pecks at the tortilla, ripping it down the middle. Potato Head then finds a suitable temporary body in the class garden with a cucumber. He complains about how fresh he feels, but his wife compliments how tall and skinny he is. But Bullseye returns his plastic body to him and he feels much better.

This Toy Story 3 character goes through the rest of the ordeal together with all of the Andy's Toy Story 3 characters, remaining close with his wife. When the aliens save them, the tables turn on him; it is now his turn to tell them how grateful his is to them.

Toy Story 3 characters: Potatoheads hug Aliens

Mrs. Potato Head

In the movie, Mrs. Potato Head has lost her eye at some point during her many years in Andy's room. She doesn't know where it is but can see that it is in a dark and dusty place.

Once at Sunnyside Daycare, she and Mr. Potato Head are played with roughly and have had all their body parts taken out, stuck in snotty noses and drooling mouths and then rearranged on each other.

After Buzz goes out that evening on a mission to get them reassigned to the Butterfly Room, Mrs. Potato Head sees through her eye that is still in Andy's room. That's when she sees that Woody was telling them the truth: Andy had meant to put them into the attic. This event sets the plan in motion for Andy's gang of Toy Story 3 characters to escape.

At the dump, her precious adopted children, the three green Pizza Planet aliens, run off right away when they see a big crane with a claw in the distance. The aliens save these Toy Story 3 characters by scooping them up in the claw, just before they were incinerated and Mrs. Potato Head said to them, "You saved our lives." Mr. Potato Head added, "And we're eternally grateful," turning the tables on the aliens, who had always been the ones giving eternal thanks.

Back at Andy's house, she finds her missing eye before they all get into the box headed for the attic. But as we know, these Toy Story 3 characters are taken to Bonnie's instead. In the ending credits we see Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head watching Totoro juggling their three alien "children".

Rex the Dinosaur

Just like the rest of Andy's toys, Rex wants to be played with. So much so that when Andy tugs his cell phone out of Rex's arms after the failed attempt at attention, he pines, "He HELD me, he actually HELD me!"

Andy later puts his toys into a garbage bag that was meant for the attic, but Ms. Davis, not knowing the bag is his toys, puts it out on the curb for the garbage truck. The toys, in a panic, think to use Rex's pointed tail to break through the bag.

They get to Sunnyside Daycare and is super excited about being played with year after year. They are assigned to the Caterpillar Room and Rex eagerly awaits the children to return from recess. "Come to Papa!" he exclaims in front of the door.

Everyone soon discovers that these children don't play nice. The toys are roughly played with and Rex's tail was pulled off.

After seeking out Lotso for a room change, Buzz returns to them in demo mode and promptly locks them all up. As part of the escape plan, Rex and Hamm fight with each other, creating a diversion so Jessie and Bullseye can get out. Buzz opens the basket/cage and tells them to get out, and Jessie traps Buzz under a clear plastic bin. Rex and Hamm sit on top of it and they are too heavy for Buzz to move.

When the toys work on getting Buzz out of his demo mode, Rex is told to stick his skinny finger into the reset hole on Buzz's back. He puts his finger in and unknowingly leaves it there too long, causing Buzz to go into Spanish mode.

At the end of the movie, Rex is given to Bonnie and naturally, Rex becomes close with Trixie. They like playing computer games together.

Hamm

This Toy Story 3 character has a minor role in the film after playing the Dr. Evil Porkchop at the beginning of the film. Hamm wants to be played with too and is upset at being dumped.

At Sunnyside Daycare, the children mistreat Hamm when they pour glitter all over his back and stuff his insides with small toy bits that pop out when he uncorks himself at the end of the day.

Hamm and Rex team up after they are imprisoned and they fake a fight to get demo-mode Buzz's attention. With Jessie's help, Hamm and Rex trap Buzz under a plastic bin.

Later on when they've acquired Buzz's user manual, Hamm is able to read the instructions to try and get Buzz back to normal. He seems to be the only toy who knows how to read.

Slinky Dog

Just like his friends, Slinky Dog is sad about not getting played with and is upset about being tossed out for trash.

At Sunnyside Daycare, poor is stretched out and is left with little toys tangled up in his springy body.

Slinky is a big help to Woody as they team up to stop the scary monkey guard who watches the security cameras. They also need to get the key that opens the door to outside. When the monkey overpowers Woody and starts bashing Woody's head with his cymbals, Slink comes to the rescue by getting some Scotch tape and the two of them tape up Monkey and stick him in a file cabinet.

Slinky Dog is an important helper again when the Andy's Toy Story characters reach the end of the garbage chute and face the open dumpster. Slink says that he may be old but he still has a spring in his step as he leaps and stretches across the open dumpster lid.

However, Lotso shows up at that point and kicks Slinky's front feet, springing him back to the garbage chute.

Alien Squeeze Toys

The set of Pizza Planet aliens with three eyes are back again as Toy Story 3 characters. They constantly voice their gratitude to Mr. Potato Head for saving them from falling out of the Pizza Planet delivery truck in Toy Story 2, which really annoys him.

The aliens still talk about The Claw, the original arcade game from Pizza Planet, so that anything looking like a claw they are drawn toward. Upon their arrival at Sunnyside Daycare, the see a toy crane and they go right to it.

When the main Toy Story 3 characters first get to the dump, the aliens see a huge crane with a claw in the distance and they rush right toward it, and Mrs. Potato Head is quite upset that her "children" have abandoned her. We think that's the last time we'll ever see the alien squeeze toys, because in the next moment the rest of the gang are bulldozed onto the garbage conveyer belt.

At the end of the harrowing incinerator scene, the enormous crane with the claw scoops up the gang, saving them from a fiery demise. As they are being swung around, the claw pauses in front of the driver's window where the three aliens are at the controls. They say in their usual drone-like voices, "The CLAWWW!!!"

Mr. Potato Head grabs the three of them into a big hug and tells them they saved their lives and that he is eternally grateful, finally turning the table on him.

The Toy Story 3 ending credits show the Alien Squeeze Toys acting in a Romeo and Juliet play with some of Bonnie's toys.
